Elastic anti-plane shear waves can be refracted negatively when they are transmitted across an interface between a homogeneous substrate and transverse periodic laminate. To achieve pure negative refraction, the frequency of source should lower than upper limit second transition zone harmonic spectrum An effective way to control location zones is consider canonical configuration for laminate, concept that originates from properties quasicrystalline sequences among which Fibonacci one particular case. We give detailed account classification in three families configurations role frequency. exploit knowledge scaling factor self-similar structure layout laminates this kind provide quantitative tool predict relevant frequencies accomplish refraction. also investigate how change other parameters elementary cell may affect values those frequencies. The obtained results show features profitably exploited realisation elastic metamaterials.
